ABREE: Expectations in the reverse logistics system for 2021
Brazilian Electronics and Home Appliances Recycling Association (ABREE).
The year of 2021 is of utmost importance to the reverse logistics system, as it is the first implementation of the electronics and home appliances recycling system. Manufacturers and importers are increasingly engaged: we are currently at 42 members who represent over 150 brands, which makes ABREE the most representative industry manager, as it holds over 95% of the product volume in the market.

Through the installation of more than 1,300 at federal level collection points, we intend to connect all links of this chain in a harmonious and productive manner. The setting in which environmental concerns are increasing, brings more optimism with the engagement of all players in this chain, such as consumers, retail, and the government.
With this purpose, we intend to standardize undefined tax issues in product disposal and shipping between States, since many of them drive the taxation of a process that should be exempted. Since Brazil is a country with numerous regional approaches and legislation plurality, we need to tackle this front to foster the National Policy of Solid Wastes (PNRS).
The plan for 2021 is to enter into an even more strategic operational partnerships of what is proposed under the Federal Decree for implementing the reverse logistics system. It’s a great step for the industry and the environment is the largest beneficiary.
