Houston: Bicycles with 29-inch rims are a trend
It presented, in the fair, more than ten new bicycle models in the adult, children and teenager lines. Discovery, Mercury and Netuno models stand out. The company has unisex products for different types of use in the city, in sport, on trails and in leisure. In total, there are 43 models of bicycles.
“Today, the rim 29 is a trend, it is what the market asks for. We have well made bikes, with aluminum frame, aero rim, 24 speeds, front suspension, disc brake and Shimano gears”, said Adilson Custódio, Houston commercial director. The installed production capacity in Teresina (PI) is 900 thousand bicycles/year and in Manaus (AM), 400 thousand.
In 2022, the market is growing 5% over 2021, and the second semester, because of Black Friday, Children’s Day and Christmas, is the best for the category. It accounts for 85% of the year’s turnover. “In volume, the largest sales of bicycles occur in the department stores and, in added value, in specialized shops,” said Adilson, who, at the fair, received partners and representatives from South and Central America. “The sector was needing this reunion”.
