Electronics sector breaks record and strengthens dialogue with government in 2025

President of the National Association of Manufacturers of Home Appliances and Consumer Electronic Products (ELETROS)
The home appliances and electronics sector ended 2024 with impressive results. According to data from Eletros, released in March, retail sales grew 29% compared to 2023, totaling 117.7 million units — the industry’s best performance in the last decade. The air conditioning segment led with a 38% increase, followed by small appliances (33%) and brown and white lines, which grew 29% and 17%, respectively.
This progress was the result of a more favorable economic scenario for consumption, especially in the first half of the year, extreme weather conditions — with prolonged heat waves — and the growing demand for more efficient, innovative and connected products.
Considering these results, Eletros represented the sector in a meeting with President Lula, Vice President and Minister Geraldo Alckmin and Finance Minister Fernando Haddad. More than just an accountability session, the meeting had a strategic character: it reaffirmed the sector’s willingness to contribute to the country’s development and the importance of a technical and constructive dialogue with the federal government.
The meeting reinforces that the growth of the industry is directly linked to the construction of an environment of cooperation between the productive sector and the public authorities. This is the way to keep the sector strong, competitive and committed to innovation.
In 2025, the sector understands that maintaining growth depends on consistent economic measures, such as controlling inflation, sustainably reducing interest rates, fiscal responsibility and formulating public policies that encourage the consumption of more efficient and sustainable products.
