Numbers and actions that excite
Green Eletron, manager of reverse logistics for electro-electronics and batteries, has re-leased the figures for the collection of these materials carried out in 2021. As happens every year, we report this data to the Ministry of the Environment and, in this way, we get an idea of everything that was collected and sent for recycling in the country.
Since the company was founded, in 2016, last year’s result was consolidated as the highest ever, meeting and exceeding the target set by the federal government.
With the help of the aware population, which believes that the correct disposal of this type of material actively contributes to the preservation of the environment, we were able to collect 715 tons of electro-electronics, out of the total of 1,244 tons collected throughout Brazil in 2021, according to data from the Ministry of the Environment.
Our exclusive program for the collection of batteries also has much to celebrate. In 2021, more than 163 tons of unserviceable batteries were collected – almost 1 million units.
Green Eletron’s pioneering work shone through, and this was only possible because of the professionals who worked alongside us, such as retail partners, associates and the general population. The support of the Ministry of the Environment, in our process of expansion and establishment of new partnerships, was also essential.
This year, with a collection target that is three times higher, it will take a lot more awareness, effort and hard work, but I am quite sure that in 2023, at this time, I will be here celebrating again.
