2023: A YEAR OF GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS FOR REVERSE LOGISTICS
The year is coming to an end and, as at the end of every period, it is time to look back and take stock of what we have experienced to plan and prepare future initiatives.
This year was the third of the structuring and quantitative targets for the recycling of post-consumer electronic products in Brazil. Working with a collection target of 6% (double the previous one) of the volume generated in 2018, as defined by legislation, was a big challenge!
In parallel, we launched, in partnership with Radar Pesquisas, the 2nd edition of the study “Electronic Waste in Brazil”, which was born in 2021, being one of the main surveys in the country, with information on Brazilians’ knowledge and behavior regarding electronic waste.
In addition to being an open document for access by the entire population, we hope to contribute inputs that help the market create strategies to increase recycling rates, generating social and environmental benefits for Brazil.
I cannot fail to mention that we are close to an important step in the reverse logistics of this type of waste in the country: providing Green Eletron collectors for the correct disposal of items in all Brazilian states. This is already a reality in the battery program. Now, with the capillarity of the electronics program, the cycle will be more complete. A victory for us and the environment!
