ABRASA’S FOCUS IS TO PROVIDE CONVENIENCE TO THE CONSUMER

Executive director of the Brazilian Association of After-Sales in Electronics (ABRASA)
On March 11, 2025, ABRASA celebrated its participation in the history of the Consumer Defense Code. It changed the way we serve consumers at a national level, and our association was born out of the sector’s need to adapt to the new rules.
Since September 11, 1990, when the Consumer Protection Code was established, through Law No. 8,078, which came into force on March 11, 1991, many changes have occurred in the way companies relate to consumers. Industry, commerce and services had to adapt to the new scenario.
It was necessary to radically change the processes that directly involved customer service. The deadline for this was from September 1990 to March 11, 1991, and service providers saw the need to adapt. They created representative associations in São Paulo, Rio Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and the Federal District that provided training aimed at qualifying authorized services for new demands.
Subsequently, the united state associations created ABRASA which, with the important help of PROCON-SP, formulated the set of rules for adaptations, as well as giving lectures, workshops and training, qualifying members. Every year, those who stand out nationally receive the TOP 10 Trophy in electronics after-sales.
