FesPIM 2023 reinforces commitment to sustainable development of the Amazon
The second edition of the Manaus Industrial Pole Sustainability Fair (FesPIM) represented a significant milestone for the Amazon region. It highlighted the connection between regional economic development and the preservation of the Amazon. Held on the 7th, 8th and 9th of last November, at the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center, in Brasília, it was a tangible demonstration of the collective commitment to sustainable development.
With more than 30 stands and numerous lectures, FesPIM was promoted by the Manaus Free Trade Zone Superintendence (Suframa) in partnership with the Amazon Strategic Socio-Environmental Intelligence Institute (Piatam) with resources from the business sector. It gave visibility to the Manaus Free Trade Zone without generating costs for the public authorities and at an important time when discussions for voting on tax reform were on the agenda in the country’s capital.
Historically, the electronics and appliances segments, including IT goods, leads the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM) with a significant share of 43.6% of revenue – approximately BRL 50 billion, according to Suframa data from January to August 2023.
By promoting dialogue between the business, political and environmental sectors, we strengthen our vision of a prosperous and ecologically responsible future for the region. We are committed to continuing to promote initiatives that drive sustainable development in the Amazon, safeguarding its biodiversity and contributing to the well-being of present and future generations.
